There are so many great events in Connecticut this weekend, it was hard to choose ONE for each county!  I did include a few events that older children would enjoy, instead of focusing solely on the younger kiddos.

Fairfield County
Activity: Marine Life Study Cruises
Date: 7/16/16 & 7/17/16
Time: 1PM (Call for more times)
Location: Maritime Aquarium, 10 North Water Street, Norwalk
Cost: $29.95 per person ($24.95 for members)
Overview: "Study marine biodiversity from the water’s surface down to the bottom for a first-hand understanding of Long Island Sound's interdependent marine life. We utilize such sampling techniques as a plankton tow, trawl net and biodredge that generally bring up a variety of fish, crabs, mollusks and more right out of Long Island Sound right before your eyes! A videomicroscope tied to a giant-screen monitor and a large touch tank on board enhance observations. 2.5 hours."

Activity: Flanders' Forest Fairies and Woodland Wizards Festival
Date: 7/16/16
Time: 10AM-3PM
Location: Trail House, 5 Church Hill Road, Woodbury
Cost: $6 per person, children under 2 are FREE
Overview: "Flanders will become inhabited by the “wee folk” this July! Join for a magical day of viewing faerie houses at Flanders. Enjoy music, vendors, crafts show, kid’s activities, and faerie and wizard storytelling."

Activity: Mini-Private Tour and Chocolate Bar Making

Activity: FREE Child Art and Dance Play

Location: MAC 650 Gallery & Artist Co-op, 650 Main Street, Middletown
Cost: $5 Donation Appreciated
Overview: "Come check out the Nurture Exhibit and have the kids entertained with a FREE art studio class and dance activities. Play Freeze Dance and participate in a zumba-inspired routine! $5 donation is appreciated per family!"

Tolland County
Activity: The Farmer's Cow Summer Farm Tour
Date: 7/16/16

Location: Hytone Farm, 2047 Boston Park Road, Coventry

Overview: "The farm families of The Farmer’s Cow are celebrating National Ice Cream Month with tours at two of its member farms in eastern Connecticut. Visitors are invited to tour the farms, meet the farmers, see the cows and sample a variety of The Farmer’s Cow fresh local products including The Farmer’s Cow premium Ice Cream and Summer Beverages.
Saturday July 16, Summer on the Farm at Hytone. The Peracchio family hosts a tour on their scenic hilltop farm in Coventry from 1 to 3pm. Visitors will enjoy learning about how cows are cared for, what cows eat, how they are milked, and viewing the calf greenhouse. Take in the view overlooking lush green fields that grow nearly 400 acres of crops used to feed the cows."

Overview: "Join the crowd of townfolk and visitors for these bonfires that float gracefully down the Quinebaug River. Enjoy great music, find a new place to eat downtown or bring a picnic basket and enjoy the outdoor ambiance. Fires on the water are lit at dusk and burn for two hours."

Activity: Summer Fest

Location: Lyman Allen Art Museum, 625 Williams Street, New London
