There is a little something for everyone this weekend! I would like to say that if you are in Fairfield County, the book sale at the Pequot Library is worth checking out. Whether your kids still haven't completed their summer reading, or you just want to up your book game, you won't be disappointed with the selection there.

Activity: 56th Annual Summer Book Sale

Overview: "More than 140,000 books, plus CDs, DVDs, records, etc., and unique specials. Help us save the environment: If possible please bring your own reusable bags. New this year is the Eclectic Print and Art Sale on July 22 through July 24, with 1,700 prints and art for sale. An amazing collection of prints, original photographs, and art for sale. At the sale will be rare and collectible “specials” conveniently located in one room."

Overview: "2016’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park is going to be terrific. Instead of two WeatherTech SportsCar classes, there will be three – including what many consider the most exciting IMSA divisions, GT Le Mans (GTLM) and GT Daytona (GTD). The Northeast Grand Prix starting field will be the very exciting mix of Prototype Challenge (PC), GTLM and GTD! "

Activity: Colonial Summer Olympics

Location: Pardee-Morris House, 325 Lighthouse Road, New Haven
Cost: $5 per team
Overview: "Celebrate the spirit of the Rio Summer Olympics by joining the New Haven Museum for Colonial Olympics. Thirteen teams, named for the thirteen original colonies will compete in a friendly tournament of colonial era games. Teams will compete in three activities: Game of Graces Tournament, the Colonial Fun Course, and a Hoop Rolling Relay. Participants can also enjoy guided tours of the historic house. This event is family friendly, and recommended for ages 8 and up, spectators welcome.
Admission is limited to thirteen teams of 2-4 members at a cost of $5 per team to be paid the day of the event. All teams must be registered by 5 p.m., Thursday July 21, to register at education@newhavenmuseum.org."

Join Barbara Ruzansky, owner and director of WHY, as she leads a 75-minute yoga class for all-levels on LaSalle Road in West Hartford center. Last year over 1800 people turned out for this joyous community event--come be a part of the fun this year! Join us at 8am on LaSalle Road on July 23rd and celebrate yoga in the community!

Overview: "Two funny folktales from Africa come to life with stunning puppetry, spectacular scenery and infectious music. In ‘Koi and the Kola Nuts’, the youngest son of a chief sets out on a wonderful journey in search of fortune, carrying only a sack of kola nuts. His kindness to the creatures he meets is rewarded when they help him find a new home. And in ‘Anansi and the Talking Melon’ we meet one of the most hilarious tricker characters in the world folklore! Anansi eats his way into a melon but ends up too full to get back out. Trapped inside, he fools the other animals into believing that the melon can talk. Presented by Crabgrass Puppet Theatre."
