Activity: Sunday Walking Tours of Compo Cove

Overview: "Join us for a tour of Old Mill at Compo Cove, the inspiration behind our summer exhibit “the beautiful POND” led by artist Judith Orseck Katz and Robin Tauck of Tauck Tours. “Come walk with me,” the artist writes, “to the Mill Pond, out over the bridges that float above the water, where you’re suspended between the arc of the sky and the sky’s reflection.” This is an opportunity to see the bridges, marshes and wildlife that surround the beautiful mill house, which Katz calls “the seed of the birth of Westport”. Meet at the Guard Booth located in Old Mill Beach Parking lot. Reservations are required. There is a $10 donation. To reserve, call 203-222-1424."

Overview: "The Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum is located off Bridge Street in downtown Willimantic, Connecticut, on the original site of the Columbia Junction Freight Yard. Our collection includes locomotives and rolling stock, as well as vintage railroad buildings and a six-stall roundhouse reconstructed on the original foundation.
Visitors can receive a guided tour of the museum and kids of all ages can operate a replica 1850's-style pump car along a section of rail that once was part of the New Haven Railroad's 'Air Line'."
